Year 7 Boys Win the Treble!
A hat-trick of trophies has been netted by our Year 7 boys’ football team here at Blatchington Mill.
The boys won the treble after first winning the Brighton & Hove District Schools’ FA League, the Brighton and Hove District School Cup and the Sussex Schools’ County Cup – making Blatch history.
The all-conquering team played 21 games in total and only lost one match, scoring a grand total of 41 goals and conceding just four goals during the triumphant season.
After winning the league, the Blatchington boys beat Patcham High School 3-0 to win the Brighton and Hove District Cup, and Downlands 5-0 – becoming the first team to achieve the treble at Blatchington Mill School.
Blatchington Mill football coach Tony Whittington, said: “The boys were incredible all season. They worked so hard as a team and played every match with passion and determination. The whole school is so proud of this amazing team.”
Blatchington Mill Headteacher Kate Claydon said: ‘Our Year 7 boys have had a fantastic season; their work ethic, commitment and enthusiasm has been exceptional. We are so proud of them all and thrilled for them that they have become the first team at Blatch to achieve the phenomenal feat of the treble. We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them.’
