Ofsted Report 2022
We are delighted to finally be able to share with you our Ofsted report, published following our recent inspection. A copy of the report can be found on our website here and will be published on the Ofsted website next week.
Our report states that Blatchington Mill continues to be a ‘good school’, with lots of areas of strength identified across our provision.
Ms Claydon, Headteacher, would like to pay tribute, firstly, to our young people, who are the best ambassadors for our school community; we are incredibly proud of them. The opening lines of our report say it all: ‘Pupils are proud to be members of the “Blatch family”. They are polite, friendly and welcoming of visitors.'
We want to thank too all parents and carers who took the time to share their views with our inspection team and for their ongoing support of the school, it is highly valued and appreciated.
We also want to thank our governors who put enormous amounts of time and effort into supporting our school, and who work continually to help us to improve.
Peter Sowrey, Chair of Governors, said:
“I am really pleased with the outcome of the recent inspection, and the confirmation that Blatchington Mill continues to be a good school.
It is particularly pleasing to read about the strong shared values, policies and practice and the ethos of inclusivity and diversity that we know to be an essential part of the school. It is also good to see that leaders, staff and pupils create a positive environment and that there is an aspiring vision for ensuring that all pupils experience a high-quality education.
I would like to thank the headteacher, leadership team and staff for all their hard work in maintaining this high quality of education, in particular in the difficult circumstances of the last two years.”
Ms Claydon, Headteacher, said:
“We pride ourselves at Blatch on working together effectively for the benefit of all our students and I must publicly recognise the enormous talent, drive and ambition of our staff team to realise this. Over the two and a half years that I have been privileged to work at Blatch I have seen firsthand how committed our staff are, how hard they work to do the best for our students and how determined they are to live our motto of ensuring high standards of ‘Involvement, Achievement and Care’ for all. We know of course that there is more still to do and our attention is now on working to improve the areas where we can do even better.”
We encourage all of our school community to take the time to read the report, especially our students - it is about their school, the opportunities open to them and their futures as part of our wonderful ‘Blatch family.’
