Choose Kindness Competition Winner
We’re delighted to share the excellent news that Year 9 student Lilith C has won Ditch the Label’s ‘Choose Kindness’ competition! The competition required entrants to consider what choosing kindness looks like, and then produce a creative interpretation of this. Entrants could produce anything from videos, photographs or posters, to stories, sculptures or essays. The entries were then viewed by Little Mix, who decided that Lilith’s video was the best submission! Watch Lilith’s winning video below.
As a result of winning the competition, not only did Lilith win an excellent selection of goodies (pictured below), but also an amazing £1000 for us to use here at Blatchington Mill! Lilith was keen for us to use the funds to help our new year 7 cohort settle into school, so together with Lilith we have reached the decision to put the money towards providing each year 7 with a set of earphones and a mouse. These will be used to accompany the Chromebooks we have loaned to each student as we aim to ensure their first year at Blatch is as smooth as possible despite the challenges we have all faced in 2020.
Congratulations are also in order to Abigail L who was also a runner up in the competition! Well done to both Lilith and Abigail on their excellent entries and for representing Blatchington Mill in a competition with such an important message. And of course a massive thank you goes to Lilith for providing us with the opportunity to enhance our year 7 students’ learning experience at Blatch!
