Blatch Awarded DofE Certificate

Blatchington Mill is delighted to have been awarded our 2020 DofE Social Value certificate! This certificate highlights the incredible commitment our staff and 176 of our students have shown to the DofE award over the past year, and we are particularly proud to share that our students have spent 1260 hours volunteering in the local community! As well as this, they have completed 1326 hours of physical activity and 1339 hours working towards a huge variety of skills.

Jo Ireland, DofE Operations Officer for Sussex, said: ‘Your participants have completed some amazing achievements over the last financial year and I hope the certificate enables you to celebrate their success; not only their personal development in the time committed to their chosen physical and skill activities but also how much they have given back to their local community. 2019/20 has been an exceptional year for DofE in Brighton and Hove, so thank you for your ongoing support of DofE at Blatchington Mill.’

We’d like to say a massive thank you to Mrs Tracey and all of our staff who have helped with DofE over the past year. Although we haven’t been able to run our usual expeditions and awards this year, we look forward to working towards this once again in the (hopefully not too distant) future!
