Summer Term News

Tuesday, 14 June 2016

It has been a very busy week back after half term; the students are settled back in and have been brilliant at getting back to learning. The weather seems to be agonising over letting us have summer, but in general it’s warmer and that makes our school site much more pleasant for students at break and lunch. I want to thank FAB – our parent volunteers - whose fundraising has meant we have some new benches for students on their way. I’m so grateful to those parents who give up their time to help the school - they really are FAB! Read More

Celebrating Success

Tuesday, 03 May 2016

We’ve been looking at the Parents’ Evening format and when they are in the year. We’ve got some proposals for improvement and will be discussing these with staff over the coming weeks. In addition, we’re reviewing our Firefly and Passport systems over the coming weeks. We’re really pleased with some aspects of both, but appreciate and acknowledge there are some improvements that can be made – we’ll look to do that over the coming weeks and months and will keep you informed as we do so. Health Commissioners

I wanted to write briefly to thank you for your input into the parental survey on the school uniform. We have now closed the survey and will analyse and reflect on the responses. We will then begin the next two phases with parental comments in mind. The next phase will involve a staff working group who will examine our rationale and the ethos behind our school uniform. The final phase will be to fully involve students in our decision making process and for any student with an active interest to have an input into any changes that are made, taking into account the parental and staff work that has gone before. Thank you sincerely to those who took the time to respond. Read More

The end of a very busy week in school approaches and I have been delighted with the student learning I have seen taking place in the lessons I have visited this week. It’s also been lovely to hear the positive feedback from parents of those who went on the Ski Trip over half term, and your thanks for staff are much appreciated and valued. Read More
