Brighton & Hove Schools U16 Girls Team

Tuesday, 10 October 2017

We are delighted that four of our students were selected to play for the first ever Brighton & Hove district girls team! The idea for the team was formed over the summer at a meeting involving our very own Mark Seltzer (Cover Supervisor and Chairman Brighton and Hove schools FA), where it was agreed that girls who play regularly for their school teams deserve the opportunity to represent Brighton & Hove on the football pitch.

The team is even being managed by a former Blatch student, Georgia Bridges, who has done an amazing job of getting the project off the ground! At the moment the project is limited to the U16 year group but due to positive feedback from teachers and the rising profile of girls football in the Brighton district, Georgia is looking at developing the younger age groups as well.

Well done to Jess, Grace, Zadie and Amy! We’re looking forward to seeing many more Blatch students representing the city in the future!
